There are some announcements that make you smile.
Then there are the ones that make you stop for a moment, look at how far you’ve come and think:
Wow… this is actually happening.
We are incredibly excited and proud to announce that The Party Guys have officially been nominated for Best Wedding DJ – Midlands at the I Do Wedding Awards 2027! 🏆💍
For us, this nomination means far more than simply having our name on an awards list.
It represents every wedding, every couple, every packed dancefloor, every late-night drive home, every hour spent preparing playlists and every bit of work that goes on behind the scenes to make The Party Guys what it is today.
And most importantly, it feels like another huge step towards the goal we set ourselves from the very beginning.
We Never Set Out to Be the Biggest. We Set Out to Be the Best.
When we started building The Party Guys, we never had it in our arsenal to become the biggest DJ company.
That wasn't the ambition.
We didn't want hundreds of DJs working underneath a brand name. We didn't want to chase as many bookings as physically possible or measure success purely by how many events we could squeeze into a calendar.
We wanted to be the best.
We wanted to build a DJ business that people could genuinely trust.
A business couples would recommend to their friends.
A business venues and suppliers would be happy to work alongside.
And most importantly, a business where couples knew that when they booked us for their wedding, they weren't simply booking somebody to turn up with speakers and play music.
They were booking someone who genuinely cared about their wedding.
That philosophy remains at the heart of everything we do today.
And being nominated for Best Wedding DJ – Midlands feels like another stepping stone proving that we're heading in exactly the right direction.
What Does Being "The Best" Actually Mean?
For us, being the best has never meant having the biggest speakers, the brightest lights or the most expensive equipment.
Of course, professional equipment matters.
But great wedding entertainment is about people.
It's about understanding the couple standing in front of you.
It's about understanding the room.
It's knowing when to change direction because the dancefloor is telling you something completely different from what you expected.
It's knowing when to make an announcement and when to let the moment speak for itself.
It's reading different generations of guests and finding those songs that somehow get the grandparents, parents, friends and younger guests all dancing together.
And sometimes it's about throwing the carefully prepared plan completely out of the window because the dancefloor has suddenly gone in another direction! 😂
That's the beauty of being a wedding DJ.
No two weddings are ever the same.
And we wouldn't want them to be.
Your Wedding Isn't Just Another Booking
One thing we've always been passionate about is getting to know our couples.
Your wedding isn't simply another date in our calendar.
Before we arrive, we want to understand you.
What music do you love?
What songs instantly take you back to a particular moment?
What songs do your friends go crazy for?
What absolutely must be played?
And equally importantly…
What should NEVER be played? 😂
All those conversations help us understand the atmosphere you want to create.
Because ultimately, we're not there to play our favourite music.
We're there to help create your wedding party.
From introducing those important moments and playing your first dance to reading the room throughout the evening, everything is about building an atmosphere that feels completely natural to you and your guests.
The Moments We Get to Experience Are Incredible
Wedding DJing gives us a front-row seat to some genuinely unforgettable moments.
We see the nerves before a first dance.
We see couples suddenly realise that everyone they love is standing around them.
We see parents dancing with their children.
We see grandparents throwing some surprisingly questionable shapes on the dancefloor! 😂
We see groups of friends hear that song and immediately sprint towards the dancefloor.
And then there are those final moments of the evening.
The lights are going.
Everyone is singing.
The couple are surrounded by their favourite people.
For a few minutes, nothing else matters.
Those are the moments we absolutely live for.
🎧 That's why we do this.
More Than Just Five Hours Behind a DJ Booth
People normally see the glamorous bit.
The packed dancefloor.
The lights.
The music.
The celebrations.
What they don't always see are the hours that happen before any of that.
The messages.
The emails.
The planning meetings.
The playlist preparation.
The equipment checks.
Loading vehicles.
Travelling.
Setting everything up.
Sound checking.
Making sure everything looks right.
Then performing for hours before packing everything away again and finally heading home.
By the time we walk through our front door, most of our couples and their guests are probably fast asleep! 😂
But we'd do it all again the following weekend.
Because when you see a dancefloor absolutely packed and a couple having the night of their lives, it's worth every minute.
Building Trust Has Always Come First
Awards are incredible.
Being recognised is incredible.
But there's another word in our ambition that matters enormously to us:
Trusted.
We want The Party Guys to continue becoming one of the most trusted wedding DJ businesses in the area.
Because trust is everything when you're working in weddings.
Couples are trusting suppliers with one of the biggest and most important days of their lives.
There isn't a second attempt.
You can't simply say:
"We'll do it better next time."
That responsibility is something we've always taken seriously.
We want couples to know that when they book The Party Guys, we're going to turn up prepared, professional and ready to give absolutely everything to their celebration.
Awards Aren't the Destination – They're Stepping Stones
We're incredibly proud of every bit of recognition we've received.
But we've never wanted to collect awards simply so we can put trophies on a shelf or add another badge to a website.
For us, recognition is reassurance that we're moving in the right direction.
Every nomination.
Every award.
Every five-star review.
Every recommendation.
Every couple who tells their friends about us.
Every venue that welcomes us back.
They're all stepping stones.
They tell us that the standards we're setting ourselves are being noticed.
And this latest nomination is another pretty big one.
Being nominated for Best Wedding DJ – Midlands at the I Do Wedding Awards 2027 puts The Party Guys alongside wedding professionals from across the region.
That makes us incredibly proud.
But it also makes us even hungrier.
Because we're nowhere near finished.
We're Just Getting Started 🚀
We genuinely believe The Party Guys is still only at the beginning of its journey.
We've got huge ambitions for where we want this business to go.
But one thing won't change.
We don't need to be the biggest.
We want to continue building a reputation for being one of the best, most trusted and most recognised wedding DJ businesses in our area.
Not because we say we are.
Because our couples say it.
Because venues say it.
Because other wedding professionals say it.
And because our work continues to speak for itself.
This nomination feels like another fantastic sign that we're well on our way.
