🎧 Woodshrop Festival 2026… A Festival DJ Set to Remember 🔥

I'll be honest… Woodshrop Festival 2026 was one of those nights that reminded me exactly why I fell in love with DJing over 25 years ago.

I absolutely love performing at weddings, birthdays and corporate events. Seeing a packed dancefloor, a couple sharing their first dance or everyone singing along to their favourite songs is what it's all about. But every now and then, an opportunity comes along that lets me go right back to my roots as a DJ.

This was one of those opportunities.

This wasn't about taking requests or playing a little bit of everything. This wasn't background music while people chatted.

This was a proper festival DJ set.

Just me, the decks and an 800 strong crowd that had come ready to carry on partying

From the moment I walked onto the stage, you could feel the atmosphere. The festival site was already buzzing, people were gathering around the stage and there was this real sense that something special was about to happen.

As soon as those opening tracks dropped, the whole place came alive.

• Hands in the air.

• People jumping together.

• Whistles blowing.

• Friends with their arms around each other.

• Hundreds of people singing every word back at me.

The energy was absolutely electric, and it's honestly one of those moments that will stay with me for a very long time.

I knew exactly where I wanted to take the set.

I wanted to recreate that feeling of walking into a packed nightclub in the late 90s and early 2000s. Massive club classics. Huge piano house anthems. Old-school dance records. Proper hands-in-the-air moments. The kind of tracks that instantly transport people back to some of the greatest nights of their lives.

Every record had a purpose.

Every transition was mixed live.

Every build-up was there to create another huge moment.

Watching the crowd erupt as another iconic dance anthem dropped is a feeling that's impossible to describe unless you've experienced it yourself.

One thing I've always been passionate about is actually DJing.

Not pressing play.

Not letting a playlist do the work.

Actually reading the crowd, mixing live, building energy, teasing the next record, extending a breakdown because you know exactly what's coming next, and creating those moments where thousands of people react together at exactly the same time.

That's what I love.

I think that's something that really sets me apart.

A lot of mobile DJs are fantastic entertainers, but opportunities to perform a genuine festival-style set don't come around very often. It's a completely different way of performing. There's no script, no pre-planned running order and no safety net. It's about instinct, experience and feeding off the energy of the people in front of you.

For me, that's where years of experience really come into their own.

Every crowd tells you a story.

It's your job as the DJ to listen.

Some crowds want commercial dance music.

Some want old-school club classics.

Others want full-on 90s rave anthems.

The skill is recognising it quickly and taking them on a journey they'll remember long after the music stops.

Woodshrop Festival gave me the chance to do exactly that.

Seeing hundreds of people completely lose themselves in the music was incredible. Young people discovering these classics for the first time, alongside those who lived through them the first time around, all sharing the same dancefloor, the same atmosphere and the same energy. That's the magic of dance music—it brings everyone together.

People often ask me what makes me different from other DJs, and I genuinely think nights like this answer that question better than I ever could.

Whether I'm playing to a festival crowd, a luxury wedding, a birthday celebration or a corporate event, I approach every performance with exactly the same mindset.

I don't just play music.

I create an experience.

I read the room.

I mix live.

I build energy.

I look for those moments where the whole dancefloor erupts together.

Because those are the moments people remember.
